I have always loved wild flowers. Their tenacity in growth; how they speckle even some of the most unexpected places with their beauty bringing bright pops of color in places where no toiling of the ground was required. They remind me of how God cares for me. They remind me to pause and soak in the beauty that is all around us everyday. And most importantly they remind me that God provides for even the smallest simplest details of my life. I can rest and trust Him. As the flower simply is, I too can simply be.
Matt 6:28-34, “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (NLT)
I love praying as I make these bracelets for the ladies who will wear them to be encouraged by the reminder of the truth they offer. "Talk about them (God's word) when you sit at home and when you walk along the road. When you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands..." Deuteronomy 6:7-8
